The Charity's mission is to assist older people to increase their independence, knowledge, wellbeing and sense of purpose.
We will do this by:
- Providing access to a range of services to support the needs identified by older people within Hampshire;
- Ensuring that appropriate information and advice is available; and
- Providing a caring and supportive community to ensure older people, their carers and families achieve a better quality of life.
Age Concern Hampshire (ACH) is a registered charity working to promote independent living to over-50s in the county. We provide day care for those with a diagnosis of dementia and/or physical frailty as well as older people that may be isolated/ lonely. The majority of our clients have a full time carer, usually a husband/wife/son or daughter. We provide respite for them, allowing them to have an essential break from their caring responsibility.
Our vision is to make getting older a positive experience where everyone is respected, valued and able to make informed choices.
As an organisation we pride ourselves on our incredible team of caring, compassionate and skilled volunteers and staff that install trust in carers to allow for respite. Over 82% of clients we support are living with progressive conditions such as Dementia that can be detrimental to an older person’s independence and ability to cope with daily tasks. Age Concern Hampshire volunteers, drivers, transport, staff and village agents are here give a little hope when it is need most with anything from weekly shopping to day care at one of our centres. We need your support to continue providing this much needed service in the Havant area!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
